Water Truck/Packer Operator

The Opportunity Operations Department | Seasonal Full-Time Position (Approximately April 28- November 28) |Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 5:30pm
Lacombe County is now accepting applications for a Water Truck/Packer Operator to join the road construction team within our Operations Department. Reporting to the Assistant Construction Supervisor, the Water Truck/Packer Operator will work with fellow crew members to support the construction and maintenance of roadways and other projects across Lacombe County.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate the water truck and packer in compliance with all safety regulations, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
• Work alongside other crew members to assist in road construction and other County projects.
• Perform daily and routine safety and maintenance checks of the equipment before operation, ensuring all systems are functioning correctly to maintain optimal performance levels.
• Clean the heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
Key Qualifications
• Previous experience in the operation of construction related equipment.
• Able to communicate effectively with the Assistant Construction Supervisor regarding any maintenance requirements or repair needs.
• Be able to operate heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner-must be able to follow safe work practices and abide by all safety policies, rules, and regulations.
• Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, including heavy lifting.
• Enjoy working outdoors and able to perform duties in adverse weather conditions.
• Must have a proven ability to interact with others in a calm, courteous and respectful manner.
• Must possess, and be able to maintain, a valid class 3 Alberta driver’s license. Current driver’s abstract required.
