Lacombe County is seeking a safety-conscious and dependable individual to join our team as a Mower Operator. The Mower Operator will be responsible for mowing the grass and weeds on municipal road allowances, as well as public and private lands within the County. This role requires the ability to operate mowing equipment effectively and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
The approximate term date for this 4 month position is mid-June to mid-October (weather dependent).
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Agricultural Field Operations Lead, operate a mower unit consisting of an all wheel drive tractor with a side arm and a deck mower in compliance with all safety regulations, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
• Perform safety inspections, routine equipment maintenance and assist with servicing and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of daily mowing activities, equipment usage, and any incidents.
Key Qualifications
• Able to operate a tractor with a mower and perform light maintenance/servicing as required. Previous mowing experience is an asset.
• Must be able to perform a physically demanding position involving repetitive movement, frequent bending, kneeling, walking on slippery and uneven surfaces, and noise. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time while driving or riding in vehicles, on undulating terrain. Able to perform heavy lifting (up to 50lbs.).
• Must have a proven ability to interact with others in a calm, courteous and respectful manner. Able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Must possess, and be able to maintain, a valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
