Parts Runner / Yard Person

The Opportunity - Operations Department | Permanent Full-Time Position |Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 5:00pm

We’re seeking a dependable and hands-on individual to join our teams as a Parts Runner/Yard Person. This role is well suited to someone who takes pride in staying organized, enjoys a variety of tasks, and can be counted on to get the job done. In this position, you’ll be responsible for regularly traveling to pick up and deliver parts and equipment, as well as helping ensure the shop and yards are kept clean, organized, and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities
• Pick up and deliver of parts and equipment to various locations.
• Operate a skid steer and loader to safely move and store materials/equipment.
• Help keep the shop and yard sites clean, safe, and well-organized. This includes tasks like snow clearing in the winter, organizing the yards, tidying the shop, cleaning the wash bay, etc.
• Assist in the parts room (issue parts to County staff, purchase parts, check inventory, help with the general organization, etc.).
• Participate in workplace safety initiatives and meetings as required. Follow Lacombe County’s safety program and report to work fit for duty.

Key Qualifications
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a demonstrated ability to drive a 1 ton truck and trailer. A satisfactory driver’s abstract will be required before starting the role (if one hasn’t already been submitted).
• Light building maintenance experience is an asset (capable of changing lightbulbs, performing small repairs around the shop, etc.). Light equipment experience preferred.
• Must have proficient computer skills. Must be comfortable using inventory and work order software pro-grams, and Microsoft Office programs (including Word and Excel).
• Must be physically fit and able to perform physical labour, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and working in all weather conditions.
• Must have a proven ability to interact with others in a calm, courteous and respectful manner. Proven ability to work collaboratively with other co-workers.
